Krzysztof is the co-leader of the MCLL and an Associate Professor of Psychology at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. He obtained his MSc. (2010) and Ph.D. (2016) in psychology at Jagiellonian. Afterwards, he spent four years as a Post-Doc researcher at the Department of Psychology of the University of Tuebingen (Germany), and five years as a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Mathematical Cognition of Loughborough University (United Kingdom). Afterward, he came back to the Jagiellonian University in October 2025.
Krzyszfof's research interests include elementary number processing (especially Spatial-Numerical Associations), links between elementary number processing and mathematical skills, math anxiety (its measurement and links to mathematics achievement in different groups), linguistic and cultural influences on number processing as well as research methods, open science, and reproducibility.
Currently, Krzysztof is involved in two grants conducted at the MCLL: "Mind, number, space: Spatial-numerical cognition in professional mathematicians" (Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Poland, 2024-2027), and "ErasMAs+ Enriching HEI training to help future primary school teachers tackle math anxiety in themselves and their pupils" (European Comission, Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education, 2025–2028).
Krzysztof authored several papers in peer-reviewed journals such as Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, Advances in Cognitive Psychology, Cognition, Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology, Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition, Royal Society Open Science, Psychological Research, Canadian Journal of Experimental Psychology, Scientific Reports, Acta Psychologica, Journal of Numerical Cognition, Advances in Methods and Practices in Psychological Science, Behavior Research Methods, Mind, Brain, and Education. He also co-edited special issues of Journal of Numerical Cognition, Psychological Research, and Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences.
